Mike Spangler

Mike has lived in the Lakeville area for more than 25 years, where he and his wife, Bev, raised their two children.  He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Mathematics & Computer Science degree and spent the first 30 years of his career as a senior leader in the Healthcare / Information Technology field.  Beginning in 2005, Mike volunteered as a financial coach, facilitating Financial Peace University^TM and Generation Change^TM personal finance programs based on materials from Ramsey Solutions®.  What began as a hobby quickly turned into a passion and ultimately led Mike to join Excel Financial in 2021.  Mike has since become a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor^TM (CRPC®) and holds an Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation.  Mike leads Excel’s employer retirement plan business and advises individual investment and financial planning clients.  He enjoys spending time outdoors, serving at his local church, and traveling to spend time with his adult children and extended family.
